Afloat

My husband calls these sort of images "Jigsaw Puzzle" images. Pretty, post-card shots. He's right. At first glance, there's not much of a story here, except the one that the viewer creates for himself. It was just past mid-night, New Year's Eve. It was broad day-light (mid-night sun) and we were floating around the Antarctic Peninsula. This image is the beginning of the story I have to tell. Maybe it will help you create your own!

  1. Now that’s an image you don’t see every day! Beautiful! I’m looking at that snow ledge and imagining huge chunks of ice breaking off and floating away. Can’t wait to hear the story!

  2. Incredible! Really looking forward to seeing how this all emerges. What an awesome photo here Barbara. Those mountains are incredible, and that patch of ice floating nearest us seems so incredible and lonely. Hopefully it will find a friend soon to hang out with. Wonderful image and post today!
