Hummigbird’s Paradise

Hummingbird's Paradise

Tucked into a corner of Ecuador’s Cloud Forest, Reserva Alambi,  provides a sanctuary where hummingbirds seemed unintimidated by bird watchers and photographers alike.  Just a couple of hours from Quito, this mesmerizing paradise is dedicated to preserving the eco-system that supports nature’s tiny inhabitants.

Sea Gulls

Sea Gulls

They’re not always boisterous and annoying.  When they’re absent from the beach, I miss their squawks, their begging for food and I miss seeing their synchronized flights over the ocean.  And then they rest quietly on the sand in a giant group, all facing in the same direction.  I like that; but it doesn’t last long.

The Guests

Carolina Wren

New guests took up residence in our kitchen window while we were away on vacation. This happy surprise greeted us and I’m sure the number, in this Carolina Wren family, will increase as the weeks go by.  Will keep you posted!
